On Saturday the T-Birds freshmen team entered their match up with Northport/Huntington game with our arguably their two most valued players, Goalie Liam Vanderbeek and Goalie Brody Morbillo. Without a goaltender 8th Grade Matt Proscia stepped up and jump between the pipes and helped deliver a 5-3 Win. What a great team game, with the T-Birds coming back from a 2-0 deficit scoring 5 unanswered in the Second and Third periods. Jack Mooney and Daniel Esposito both scored their second goals of the season, Carter Tomforde/ Tyler Jones, Jason Keuerleber all scored their first T-Bird goals of their career, CONGRATS! Assists went to Lukas Theodoulou, Ashton Petry, and Sean Gooley – their first points as T-Birds this season; and Daniel Esposito had an assist – his second of the season.
Needless to say it was Matt Proscia’s first win as a goalie in the High School league, and good to know he is capable to be our third string goaltender – Thank you Matt!
