The JV team on Friday night pulled off a great comeback win 3-2 in OT vs West Islip. Larry Andres scored in the 1st period to give the T-Birds an early lead, only to see West Islip score in the 2nd period and to take the lead late in the 3rd period.
With the goaltender on the bench for the extra skater Joe Hippler tied the game with 1:16 left in the game. Great puck movement form Tyler Scandiffio to Gavin Beisel, and Beisel to Hippler made for an exciting tying goal.
In overtime Vinny Miciletto and Gavin Beisel teamed up for the winning goal. Good forecheck by both players caused the turnover and Miciletto took a shot as Beisel sent home the rebound.
A great win by the JV team, and much needed for the program. Keep up the competitive play to all three teams!
