The Varsity team won 3 of it’s last 5 games and improved to 3-5 on the season. This after winning Sunday Night vs the Bulls of Smithtown/Hauppauge with a 2-1 win. The game saw excellent goaltending from Senior Shane Kirby once again. Consistent play and highlight saves has made Shane a standout for the team. This however was a game in which the defense played it’s best game. The defensive unit has skated with 4 D Men for the most part this season due to injuries but Seniors Ryan Delucie, Brent Brdey, Jack Mercado and Junior Chase Haggerty have continued to get better with each game. The more work the better they have played.

Offense was once again lead by Ryan Fleischauer with two assists on both goals. Sophomore Alex Barylaski netted his 2nd goal of the season to tie the game at one late in the first period. Great drop pass in traffic, as good scorers touch to get the goal past the Bulls goalie and defenders. The winning goal was scored by Senior Matt Campagnola, his 3rd of the season, from a great play by Jack Mercado to draw defenders and find Matt in the slot. The winning goal was scored half way through the 3rd period, and the team played a smart game limiting the Bulls chances.

Varsity is back at it tonight versus Northport Huntington at 9:20pm. Come down and support the team, WEAR YOUR RED.

The JV Squad won it’s second game of the season on Friday night with a 2-1 victory as well over the Northport Huntington squad. This game featured excellent goaltending from Reilly Hanley and excellent defense from Larry Andres, Josh King, Ella Treco, & Tyler Scandiffio. Two forwards also contributed by playing defense with Joe Jackalone and Theo Tanzi, and their efforts also helped achieve the Win.

Vincent Miciletto was the stand out for the game. He scored a beautiful goal to open the scoring, his 2nd of the season, but we was all over the ice and had a great two way game. Nick Masi scored his first of the season for the winning goal late in the third period during a 1-1 game. I was a nice goal set up by Joe Jackalone and Gavin Beisel, with them finding Nick wide open for a tap in goal!

The JV team has really played well, very competitive so far and all players are starting to contribute to the recent team success. JV is in action again on Sunday the 19th at 6:20pm vs Sachem.
