Last night the T-Birds Hockey Program celebrated their 2024/25 Season at Stonebridge CC. Great new venue for a great bunch of players, coaches, and FAMILIES. The Night open with recongition of the programs strong growth with players, and now 4 teams in the SCHSHL (2 Freshmen, 1 JV, 1 Varsity). Some the Highlighted players and awards:
Coach Craig Nasta Scholarship Award: Senior Alex Clark, his determination and putting the team first in all rolls was evident throughout the past two seasons.
Leadership Award: Sophmore Joe Villani, as the Captain, and in his second season with the Varsity team, Joe shows respect to all teammates, coaches, and younger players in the program only to recieve it the same respect back 10 Folds. A born leader both by example and verbally.
Extra Effort Award: 7th Grade Danny Friers, as one of two goalies for two freshmen teams Danny played for both the Gold and Red team often throughout the season. Sometimes sacrificing his Travel Team games/events in order to play goal for both teams; and he has progressed at a high rate throughout the season.
Coach Ree and Neumann Award: Brady Hall and Hall Family, awarded to the player and family that has committed their time and efforts to the T-Bird Program since their Junior High years. We thank you Hall Family for the same commitment of Time and Efforts as provided by 30 plus years of coaching from John Ree and Steve Neumann.
VARSITY INDIVIDUAL AWARDS:
Most Offensive – Junior Logan Booth Alam, controls the pace of almost every game (fast), with ability to set up all his teammates on the ice, as well as an ability to be selfish for the Team and score goals as needed.
Defensive Standout – Senior Chris Esposito, when in the line uop this season the team had a true game changer on the back end. He could never be accused of not providing 100% at all times, and great at covering for his teammates.
Most Improved – Senior Nick Masi, as a first year Varsity player Nick’s confidence really came through every game. His mind caught up to his abilities and was called on to play a roll in all spaces on the ice, PK/ PP/ and 1st Line duties.
Team MVP – Senior Logan Kiel, was an absolute force on the ice and had a quiet leadership that his teammates respected and followed. A top 5 player in the league, in most games as Logan went so did our success.
T-Bird Award – Senior Tyler Hopkins/ Senior Brady Hall. Both these players exemplified outstanding teammate & self awareness. Tyler was always appreciative of his opportunities this season and never missed a practice, a tremedous work ethic. Brady was the ultimate protector of the flock, as well as vocal leader for the team when we needed a push.
JV INDIVIDUAL AWARDS:
Most Offensive – Junior Joe Jackalone, his game came around with more time on ice this season then any other. His ability to find the net for himself and teammates was noticable, and we are looking forward to the Growth next season at Varsity.
Standout Defensemen – Junior Joe Hippler, Joe’s game also improved with move reps in game then in years past. Joe is a popular amoungst the team because he has the ability to play conservative and assist his on ice teammates. Another one that will be counted on at Varisty.
Most Improved – Sophmore Alex Baush, in his first season of High School hockey Alex many great strides in improving his game. As well he did it on the backend and forward line as a versital player this season.
Team MVP – Junior Larry Andres, the team Captain was called on to play Defense and then Offense when the team had a need for more offensive punch. Larry’s efforts were rewarded throughout the season with a lot of ice time, and call ups to Varsity as well. Thank you for the leadership as much a part of the Value in the award.
T-Bird Award – Junior Nick Proscia. Hard working with one thing in mind, get the job done as needed for myself and the team. Nick found a home on the Blueline, and his ability to always know where to be and what to do really help the team compete. Nick was asked to play many positions and did with a “thank you” always.
FRESHMEN RED INDIVIDUAL AWARDS:
Most Offensive – 8th Grade Tyler Jones. Tyler was important spoke in the teams offensive wheel. His game from the 7th Grade season to the 8th Grade season was on a steady incline. He had the ability to put the puck in the net as well as setting up teammates. A big piece of the T-Birds immediate future.
Defensive Standout – 9th Grade Lucas Giordano. Lucas had a great season on the blueline, and his game improved dramatically with the extra season on Freshmen. Lucas was counted on as a shut down defender and big reason for the teams 12 point improvement from last season.
Most Improved – 8th Grade Jason Keuerleber. Jason in his second season with the Freshmen squad had a major turn around on the ice. He could be counted on to play in all rolls as the season developed. We put a ton of side work into his game with additional lessons and it has paid off, nice job Jason.
Team MVP – 8th Grade James Acker. Jimmy was the teams MVP for two straight seasons, this year playing the roll as a defensemen rather then his natural forward postion. Jimmy is also a big piece of the T-Birds success, and looking forward to seeing him take the next step.
T-Bird Awards – 7th Grade Jack Mooney & 9th Grade Nik Nasta. Jack was a monster contributor to the team on offense, and one of the more reliable players on the ice in the defensive zone, and is repsected by all his teammates and coaches. Nik made a decision to assist the Freshmen team this season and grow his game while providing some much needed experience and ability on the Freshmen team. This is a move that will payoff immediately and in the long run.
FRESHMEN GOLD INDIVIDUAL AWARDS:
Most Offensive – 9th Grade Chace McManus. Chace was a welcomed addition for the Program and the Gold team. Second on the team in scoring, and major reason for the teams mid-season turnaround.
Standout Defensemen – 9th Grade Jake Lorelle. Another new player to the program Jake was an instant impact on the back end, as well as the ability to push the puck up Ice. Jake is also a strong play on ice helping him to escape tough plays from opponents.
Most Improved – 9th Grade Harry Ruppert. Major steps in improving his game and becoming a factor positively for the Gold Teams ride to the Finals. Harry found a home on the Blueline and has handle all situations on the ice throughout a game.
Team MVP – 8th Grade Logan Dietz. His determination to win and succeed has push his teammates to get on board and take this fun ride with Logan. His ability to score is noticable, and it rubs off on his teammates, and they follow his lead.
T-Bird Award – 9th Grade Jacob Brussey. Jacob has been playing in his third season with the T-Birds, and we would have to think it’s been his favorite. Leaned on as a leader of the team, and plays any roll asked of him by the coaches; truly a very coachable player and appreciated by the staff.
